Murray Goulburn has also introduced a system of cheese making which has enabled
a product to contain only seven percent fat. This has been an important
breakthrough that has enabled people with dietary restrictions to still be able
to eat cheese. Murray Goulburn has also imported new technology to enable it
to produce a variety of dairy blends. The process has enabled butter and vegetable
oils to be mixed to provide a dairy spread that also can be used successfully
in cooking. The company has also been a leader in the development of the Ultra
High Temperature (UHT) system. With UHT, a variety of liquids and foods, such
as milk, can be processed and then stored without refrigeration. They are
generally known as Longlife products. The company has also achieved international
quality standard accreditation.
